State Judge Advocate – US Army Retired
Michael "Trike” Lecza was elected Judge Advocate of the Department of Maryland on 30 May 2024. Mike served in the United States Army from 1991 to 2005 serving as MOS 63B H8 (Light Wheel Mechanic/Recovery Expert). He is Medically retired from the Army. He earned his VFW eligibility by serving in Kosovo and Bosnia. In recognition of his service, he received the, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal, NATO Medal, Kosovo Campaign Medal National Defense Service Medal, Non-Commissioned Professional, Development Ribbon, Korea Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Driver’s Badge (Track & Wheel) Mike joined the VFW in 2005 while living in Alaska as a Member at Large, he transferred to Post 467, Westminster, MD in 2019 where he maintains his Life membership.
He has served in elected and appointed positions at the Post, District, and
Department levels. On the Department level, he served as a Department Trustee for 2 years before
getting Elected as the Department Judge Advocate. Mike also worked at the Baltimore National Cemetery from 2011 to 2022, taking care of our Veterans who reside there Mike attended Coastline Community College where he received his Associates in Arts. Mike, resides in Woodbine, MD.
