John F. DallaTezza first joined the Veterans of Foreign Wars at Okinawa Memorial Post 9723 in 1969 on his return from serving in Vietnam with the 2nd Marine Air Wing as an Aviation Communications Technician. He rejoined the organization in 1990 and became a Life Member in 1997. At the Post level, Comrade DallaTezza served as Post Quartermaster for 7 consecutive years. He has served as Trustee for District 7 since 2013 and as Department Trustee since 2015. Comrade DallaTezza has served on the Convention Committee for numerous years taking on the task of the Convention Program Book and serving at the Registration desk. John retired in 2015 after 38 years with Northrop Grumman. He lives in Keymar, Carroll County, Maryland with his wife of 46 years, Libby. He has a great fondness for the Youth Essay contests and is a Life Member of the VFW National Home.
